Job description

Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU (Contract)

Location: California 95370
Pay: $2,059 – $2,311/week
Schedule: Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
Hours: 36–48 hours per week
Coverage: Every other weekend required; floating required


Position Summary & Responsibilities
  • Provide high-acuity ICU nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)

  • Monitor, manage, and respond to critically ill patients, including those on ventilators and titratable IV drips

  • Assess patient status, interpret clinical data, and adjust care based on patient condition

  • Administer medications and treatments per protocols and physician orders

  • Collaborate with intensivists, hospitalists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care

  • Supervise, delegate, and support assigned nursing staff

  • Educate patients and families and participate in discharge planning

  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to safety and clinical standards


Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

  • Acute care or ICU experience preferred

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California (Required)

  • BLS certification (Required)

  • ACLS certification (Required)

  • PALS certification (Required)


Additional Requirements
  • Experience with ventilators, ICU equipment, and titratable drips preferred

  • Ability to float between ICU and stepdown, with possible float to other units as needed

  • Familiarity with Cerner (documentation) and Pyxis (medication system) preferred

  • Must comply with facility vaccination and health requirements

  • May be placed on call if unit is overstaffed at shift start
