Your Role on the Team
Position Summary:
The incumbent acts as both a functional and technical leader in the development, upgrade, enhancement, and support of Clinical Information systems. Independently maintains and manages large modules of an enterprise clinical information system or department specialty system. Facilitates decisions and work efforts which affect applications and patient care practices. Participates in the analysis and design of data communication links between systems.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of inpatient workflows
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Must be willing to participate in 24 hour on-call rotations as a system duty officer
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Current certification in Epic Willow
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to function as a project leader and project member
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Ability to apply logical troubleshooting and analysis techniques for the purpose of problem resolution
  • Ability to act independently to solve problems and develop recommendations
  • 5-7+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project Coordination / management experience
  • Must possess a working knowledge of HL7 and other interface/integration strategies
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
  • Experience within a clinical context and/or clinical designation
  • Experience using / implementing Pharmacy related applications (Swisslog, Pyxis)
  • Experience supporting additional Epic or third-party applications
