Job description

Role Overview
The Systems Catalyst: Solve the Challenge. Translate the Data. Drive the Evolution.
At Boston Dynamics, the Senior Technical Support Engineer is a vital source of intelligence for our entire organization. You will take ownership of resolving high-stakes technical challenges across a sophisticated ecosystem of advanced, mobile robotic platforms and their associated peripherals. Your work spans autonomous behaviors, complex networking, and deep integration with our C++ and Python SDKs.
Our products are at the cutting edge, solving real-world problems for our customers right now. To make them even better, we need systems-level thinkers who instinctively ask "Why?". We are building a mission-critical data pipeline that the entire company relies on-from Engineering and Product to Sales, Quality, and Field Applications. Your role is to resolve complex cases with technical excellence while ensuring the resulting data is harvested and translated into meaningful insights that drive our global roadmap forward.
Job Profile
We are looking for a "take-charge" engineer who takes pride in providing a high standard of service but is always seeking the deeper lesson in the data. You are a self-starter and quick learner who can navigate a rapidly changing commercial landscape and translate technical complexity into organizational value. If you want your work to be the bridge between field reality and future innovation, this is the role for you.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Full-Spectrum Systems Impact: Troubleshoot diverse electro-mechanical systems, computer interfaces, and wireless communications across a fleet of cutting-edge robotic platforms.
  • The Cross-Functional Link: Serve as the "Internal Voice of the Customer," ensuring that field data speaks clearly to R&D, Quality, Sales, and our service partners.
  • Ecosystem Engineering: Use your proficiency in Python or C++ and expert knowledge of log data to diagnose issues and help refine the tools we use to monitor platform performance.
  • High-Fidelity Discovery: Be the first to encounter novel behaviors in emerging technology, documenting incidents and suggesting features to ensure the whole company learns from every deployment.
  • Strategic Value: Act as a force multiplier by turning technical resolutions into a data-driven narrative that informs key business objectives and product reliability.

The ideal candidate has:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 3+ years in a customer-facing technical engineering role (Robotics or Automation preferred).
  • Programming: Proficiency in high-level object oriented programming, preferably Python and/or C++.
  • Technical Breadth: Strong understanding of Linux, networking protocols, and electro-mechanical systems.

We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, we are not able to sponsor visas for this position.
The base pay range for this position is between $88,603 to $121,830 annually. Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including, but not limited to internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience. This range represents a good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Boston Dynamics offers a generous Benefits package including medical, dental vision, 401(k), paid time off and a annual bonus structure. Additional details regarding these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer for employment. We are growing rapidly, building a commercial company that delivers cutting edge technology and solutions to our customers from industrial applications to logistics and warehouse solutions.
