A Brief Overview
The Network Infrastructure Engineer provides support to enterprise-level networks as apart of IT Network Infrastructure and Data Center Support. This position focuses on Local Area Networks (LAN). Their responsibilities include the configuration, monitoring, and support of Peckham's enterprise network infrastructure. Additionally, this role is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise such as support tickets and manage incidents, service requests, and problems through their full life cycle.
What you will do

  • Collaborate with the IT Network Infrastructure and Data Center Support teams to implement and support secure network, wireless, and data/voice communication systems within the Peckham organization.
  • Apply knowledge of enterprise-level wired and wireless networking.
  • Stay informed about current network technologies and hardware platforms and actively engage in learning about emerging technologies and trends in the IT field.
  • Adhere to Peckham's change management and documentation processes.
  • Update and maintain policies and procedures for the Peckham Information Technology Department to ensure clarity and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise. Support tickets and manage incidents, service requests, and problems through their full life cycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess network requirements and develop solutions that enhance connectivity and efficiency.
  • Document network configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance with best practices.
  • Perform routine audits of systems and software
  • Participate in after-hours support and project work along with on-call rotations as necessary and assigned.
  • Participate in, and support, Peckham Information Technology Department projects and initiatives with fellow Information Technology staff.


What you will Need

  • Bachelors in Information Technology or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, industry certifications, and experience
  • 3 - 5 years experience in an Information Technology field
  • 1 - 3 years of progressive experience with enterprise local area networking technologies.
  • 1 - 3 years hands-on experience with Cisco network routers, routing/switching protocols, network switch, and Cisco wireless technologies
  • Possess an understanding and hands-on experience with physical network routers (routing protocols) and network switch technologies
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve network issues effectively
  • Proficient in using network monitoring and management tools to ensure optimal performance and security
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in network configurations and documentation
  • Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends
