Job description

The position sits within the IT department but works closely with the various departments to achieve the spatial data needs of the organization. The Senior GIS Analyst is expected to perform a variety of duties in support of this mission. Domain knowledge of the oil and gas industry is preferred along with proficient knowledge of GIS concepts such as spatial data creation and management, data visualization, spatial analysis, FME build and design, and systems administration. The position administers GIS workflows as well.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and process queries to extract, manipulate and analyze data

  • Assist with special projects involving thematic map creation, data conversion and/or quality control

  • Design and implement automated ETL using FME, Python (ArcPy), SQL and Snowflake to automate workflow processes

  • Integrate geospatial and operational data across multiple areas

  • Manage content stored in ArcSDE geodatabases and SQL server

  • Program web-based applications within ArcGIS Enterprise such as dashboards, Experience Builder

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate GIS data with other systems (e.g. FME, ArcGIS Online, Experience Builder)

  • Assist with training junior GIS staff and end-users on GIS tools and best practices

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in GIS or related field

  • At least seven (7) years of FME work experience in Oil and Gas

  • At least seven (7) years of GIS work experience using ArcGIS and related tools and extensions including ArcGIS Pro

  • At least six (6) years of experience in Oil and Gas

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in GIS or related field

  • Experience with Surface Infrastructure, features, and attributes

  • Familiarity with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise and Esri-related mobile applications

  • Programming and scripting skills

  • Advance understanding of key concepts FME and scripts for workflow processes

  • Proven high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Proven track record of being able to solve problems and think creatively

  • Ability to suggest and implement process improvements to increase efficiency
