Job Summary

The Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) is a defined benefit pension plan that provides a secure retirement income to more than 504,000 healthcare workers across Ontario. HOOPP is offered by more than 870 participating employers and is one of Canada's largest and most respected pension plans.

As a Student Intern in Investment Operations, Capital Markets, you'll gain handson exposure to how institutional investments are supported and processed behind the scenes. You'll work closely with experienced professionals, contribute to real projects, and develop technical, analytical, and processimprovement skills in a fastpaced environment.

This role is ideal for students interested in capital markets, finance, operations, or technologyenabled process improvement.

What you will do:

  • Support day-to-day Investment Operations functions across capital markets such as trade capture, settlement, treasury, securities lending, and collateral management.

  • Assist with automating and improving processes using Python, Power BI, and Power Automate.

  • Help test and support business processes for new investment products and strategies.

  • Create and maintain clear documentation for processes and procedures.

  • Build process diagrams and presentation materials using Visio and PowerPoint.

  • Conduct research and maintain spreadsheets and databases.

  • Take on additional tasks and projects that support team priorities and learning.

What you will bring:

  • Currently enrolled in a university program in business, accounting, finance, mathematics, actuarial science, or computer science.

  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with attention to detail.

  • Comfortable working with data and technology; experience with Python, Excel, Power BI, Power Automate, or VBA is an asset.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Curious, eager to learn, and comfortable working with different teams.
