GIS Technician II

Location: Atlanta, GA
Client: Georgia Power
Contract: 2 Years
 

We are seeking a GIS Technician II with 2–5 years of hands-on GIS experience to support Georgia Power’s Forestry and Right-of-Way teams. The position will focus on GIS data management, mapping, ArcGIS Online applications, Python automation, and end-user support.

Responsibilities
  • Create, edit, manage, and quality-check GIS data using ESRI ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
  • Develop and support Web Maps, Web Apps, Field Maps, and Experience Builder solutions.
  • Run and maintain Python scripts and Python Notebooks for GIS-related business processes.
  • Support data collection and Work Management platform activities.
  • Troubleshoot ArcGIS Online applications and provide support to field personnel, Foresters, Specialists, and Managers.
  • Maintain accurate and timely GIS database updates.
  • Assist GIS Analysts and business teams with mapping, data analysis, and application support.
Requirements
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with GIS coursework or related field.
  • 2–5 years of GIS experience using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
  • Experience developing Web Maps, Web Apps, Field Maps, and Experience Builder applications.
  • 1–2 years of Python scripting or Python Notebook experience in a GIS environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Planner, and Microsoft 365.
  • Strong GIS data editing, visualization, quality-control, and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred
  • Utility industry experience.
  • Forestry, Vegetation Management, or Right-of-Way experience.
  • Microsoft Power BI experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Copilot for GIS-related work.
