How much do python data analyst jobs pay per year?

As of May 30, 2026, the average yearly pay for python data analyst in Kansas is $73,702.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $55,700.00 and $86,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What Does a Python Data Analyst Do?

As a Python data analyst, you use the Python programming language to develop tools for data mining, analysis, and data visualization. You typically develop a script to meet the specific data needs of your client or employer. Then, you test your code and perform debugging duties before deploying it in a live environment. Some data analysts also have algorithm creation responsibilities. In this case, after creating and testing an algorithm, you use Python with your algorithm to interpret data. You also develop reports to show to your clients or employers, and you may code a web app or interface that clients can use to visualize data sets.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Python Data Analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Python Data Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, a solid grasp of statistics, and proficiency in Python programming, often supported by a degree in data science, mathematics, or a related field. Familiarity with data analysis libraries like pandas and NumPy, visualization tools such as Matplotlib or Seaborn, and experience with data querying languages like SQL are typically required. Attention to detail, critical thinking, and effective communication help you derive insights and present findings clearly to stakeholders. These skills and qualities are vital for transforming raw data into actionable business intelligence and supporting data-driven decision-making.

How do Python Data Analysts typically collaborate with other departments within an organization?

Python Data Analysts often work closely with teams such as marketing, finance, and product development to provide data-driven insights that inform business decisions. They regularly participate in cross-functional meetings to understand departmental objectives, gather requirements for data analysis, and present their findings in an accessible manner. Effective communication and the ability to translate technical results into actionable recommendations are essential, as analysts often act as a bridge between technical data and non-technical stakeholders.

What is the difference between Python Data Analyst vs Data Scientist?

AspectPython Data AnalystData Scientist

Job description

JOB SUMMARY

Truity Credit Union is seeking a data-savvy and forward-thinking Data and AI Engineer to advance our data management and AI enablement capabilities. This role focuses on automating data workflows, refining data quality, and leveraging AI/ML tools to solve practical business problems. Rather than full-scale software development, this position emphasizes data transformation, enrichment, querying, and AI-assisted processing, especially using Python, Node.js and SQL.

You’ll collaborate with teams such as Software Engineering, Data, Business Analysts, and Other technology stakeholders to create intelligent workflows, build/refine models and apply AI to real-world business/operational problems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Design and implement data manipulation pipelines using scripting languages like Python and SQL for ingestion, cleansing, enrichment, and formatting.
  2. Apply AI tools and frameworks to automate data classification, validation, and reporting tasks.
  3. Configure and test generative models (LLMs) to enhance data-driven workflows and knowledge management.
  4. Build lightweight scripts and tools for on-demand data exploration, transformation, and summarization.
  5. Partner with analysts and business users to identify AI-powered opportunities for streamlining data operations.
  6. Integrate LLM-based agents for structured and unstructured data extraction, Q&A, and document parsing.
  7. Use vector databases, semantic search, and embedding models to enhance data retrieval and knowledge systems.
  8. Support and maintain data pipelines across structured systems (e.g., SQL warehouses) and semi-structured data sources.
  9. Leverage prompt engineering and AI orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, semantic routers) to optimize task handling.
  10. Monitor AI/data automation scripts to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance with data privacy standards.
  11. Document data workflows and AI tools clearly for reuse, maintainability, and auditability.
  12. Collaborate with the risk, security, and compliance teams to ensure responsible and ethical use of AI systems.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in Python for scripting, data manipulation, and automation.
  • Strong command of SQL for querying, transforming, and joining relational data.
  • Experience with LLM tools and frameworks such as LangChain, OpenAI APIs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
  • Familiarity with vector stores (e.g., FAISS, Weaviate) and embedding-based search.
  • Understanding of data pipelines and orchestration tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Pandas workflows).
  • Knowledge of AI agent frameworks and task routing techniques.
  • Ability to build and refine prompt templates and AI-assisted data workflows.
  • Comfort working with cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of version control, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization tools is preferred
  • Awareness of ethical AI, privacy considerations, and data compliance standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or scripting-heavy roles.
  • 2+ years working with AI/ML tools or automation frameworks, especially for data-related use cases.

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Identity Theft Red Flags.
  • Regular attendance and active collaboration are essential.
  • Ability to perform functions requiring manual dexterity and lift objects up to 25lbs when necessary.
  • Reasonable accommodations will be made under the ADA when applicable.
