Job description

The on-site counterpart of our analytics function: work alongside the editorial and operations teams at 240 Elm Street, turning publishing data into decisions.

About the Role

This is the in‑office twin of our remote Data Analyst opening, based at our Somerville, MA office. Working physically alongside the editorial and operations teams, you will handle the analyses that benefit from being in the room: operational reviews, financial reconciliation with the office team, and fast‑turnaround questions during weekly planning.

What You Will Do
  • Build and maintain the operational dashboards used in weekly editorial and management reviews.
  • Support finance with invoicing, payment and reconciliation analysis.
  • Run ad‑hoc analyses for editors and leadership, often same-day.
  • Maintain data quality across our operational systems and drive corrections.
  • Document metric definitions so every team argues from the same numbers.
What We Are Looking For
  • 2+ years in a data-analysis role with strong SQL.
  • Fluency in a BI/visualization tool and advanced spreadsheets.
  • Clear communication with non-technical colleagues — editors, finance and operations.
  • Able to work on-site at our Somerville, MA office.
Nice to Have
