Job description

Job Summary:
Thermo Fisher Scientific is a leading company in the Life Sciences Group, and they are seeking a Director of Data Analytics & Strategic Solutions. In this role, you will design and support scalable data analytical solutions, lead AI transformation projects, and manage a team of data engineers and analysts to modernize the digital supply chain initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and scale digital transformation and AI initiatives, from ideation to implementation, that align both predictive analytics and machine learning with business needs.
• Own and drive the end-to-end data and analytics roadmap—partnering with executives to align priorities to business objectives and leading teams through disciplined execution and delivery
• Re-imagine, modernize, and scale the data solutions architecture and reporting suite for faster, more reliable access to insights and efficiency
• Manage and mentor a global team of data engineers, data partners, and data analysts and collaborate to ensure successful project delivery
• Lead a monthly Technology Governance Board to ensure that data analytics projects align to strategy, achieve intake goals, and are not redundant
• Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting of data solutions, including investigation of data issues, validation, and load balancing.
• Set standards and best practices for analytics and visualization platforms (including Power BI), ensuring scalable, well-governed, and business-ready insights
• Define analytics engineering direction in alignment with IT platform choices, enabling modern tools such as Databricks, Git-based development, and scalable cloud-native analytics architecture
• Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in supply chain and operations analytics
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field preferred.
• 8+ years technical engineering experience with top industry tools to include, but not limited to, SQL, Python, Data Bricks, GitHub, etc.
• 4+ years of management experience leading analytics teams.
• 4+ years of experience with data engineering, business intelligence (visualization/dashboard/reporting), data science, data analysis, business analysis
• Proven experience modernizing analytics across 10+ ERP systems and consolidating data from traditional data warehouses or lakes into centralized analytical platforms.
• Hands-on experience in data preparation, data gateway, and data warehousing projects.
• Working knowledge of relational database design and data modeling.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (English).
• Ability to communicate with internal and external customers (including communicating technical information to nontechnical audiences).
Preferred:
• Life Sciences supply chain consulting experience driving large scale transformations is a plus.
