Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Senior AFSIM Developer / Modeling & Simulation Engineer to support simulation solutions for U.S. Navy programs. This position is on-site in Crane, IN . The AFSIM Developer will design, develop, and integrate simulation capabilities within the AFSIM framework to support multi-domain operations and mission-level analysis. This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to mission-critical programs focused on modeling and simulation using the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM). The successful candidate will work alongside government stakeholders, National Laboratories, warfare centers, and industry partners to develop innovative simulation capabilities that support national defense objectives and the Navy's multi-domain superiority mission. Key Responsibilities: * Provide technical leadership and expert-level support for AFSIM-based model development, integration, and analysis.
* Design, develop, and maintain modeling and simulation solutions supporting Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO) mission areas.
* Develop and integrate simulation capabilities using AFSIM, Python, C, and other software development tools.
* Conduct analysis involving:
* Electromagnetic exploitation
* Electronic attack
* Protection and survivability assessments
* Electronic Warfare (EW) effects modeling
* Develop, integrate, and evaluate:
* Threat models
* Flight path models
* Operational scenarios
* Constructive simulation environments
* Support Nuclear Triad (Land-Based, Sea-Based, and Airborne Strategic Deterrence) modeling and simulation initiatives.
* Perform validation, verification, and accreditation (VV&A) activities for simulation models and provide formal assessment reports.
* Collaborate with:
* National Laboratories (e.g., Sandia National Laboratories)
* Department of Defense Warfare Centers
* Navy Modeling and Simulation organizations
* Industry partners and prime contractors
* Support rapid prototyping efforts and integration of emerging technologies into simulation environments.
* Contribute to technical planning, schedule development, risk management, and project execution.
* Prepare technical documentation, briefings, and reports for government stakeholders and program leadership.
Required Qualifications: * ActiveSecret Security Clearance.
* Current Security+ CE or other DoD-approved Cyber Workforce Framework (CWF) certification.
* Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
* Extensive hands-on experience with:
* AFSIM
* Modeling and Simulation tools such as STK, NGTS, Builder, or equivalent platforms.
* Strong programming skills in:
* Python
* C
* MATLAB
* Proven experience in:
* Systems engineering
* Model integration
* Simulation architecture development
* Validation and verification activities
* Experience developing technical reports and presenting findings to senior government and technical stakeholders.
* Demonstrated success managing technical projects, schedules, and deliverables.
