Job Summary:
JTEC Consulting LLC is a Veteran-Owned Small Business focused on delivering solutions for Air Force and DOD clients. They are seeking Python Developers at the mid-senior level to support a data science and software engineering team in developing and deploying systems across multiple federal environments.
Responsibilities:
• Work as part of a blended team of government and contractor personnel including data scientists and technical team members supporting application and systems development projects for deployment across multiple environments
• Support development for end-to-end system features from user experience to backend code and deployment
• Provide expertise to the development team using Agile methodologies, modern languages, cloud technologies, and microservices
• Promote adoption of industry best practices to meet customer requirements
• Ensure solutions align with current and future architecture and operational environments
• Support hands-on development in Python and shell scripting for internal and external APIs
• Deploy code using Jenkins and GitHub
• Support unit testing, code reviews, and related activities
• Leverage Scrum methodology
• Support cloud infrastructure deployment for mission critical and classified workloads using AWS Commercial Cloud Services (C2S)
• Deploy applications using microservices and Kubernetes container orchestration
• Collaborate with networking team members and ISSM to ensure that data access and routing meet customer's stated requirements
• Support overall program deliverables, as assigned, including documentation and reports
• Support full on-site schedule
Qualifications:
Required:
• U.S. citizenship
• Current TS/SCI with polygraph required for consideration
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (Computer Science, Information Systems, or technical discipline) + Equivalent years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
• 10+ years of related experience with Python application development including: Python coding, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, API development
• Experience working with AWS cloud and virtual infrastructure including: AWS C2S, Amazon Virtual Private Cloud/AWS IDL VPC
• Experience working with AWS tools including: Managed OpenSearch, EMR, EC2, Lambdas
• Experience deploying containerized microservices with Kubernetes
• Experience building and running containerized applications using Helm and Docker
• Experience with Jenkins, GitHub, and other CI/CD tools
• Experience with version control systems including Git
• Experience working with big data search tools such as OpenSearch, Elastic, Airflow, PySpark, and Trino
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to work in a dynamic team environment
• Availability to support a full on-site work schedule
Preferred:
• Experience with large-scale, massively parallel distributed data processing tools including Spark, Hadoop, Presto, NiFi
• Programming experience using Python, Java, Perl, C, C++
• Experience with ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
• Experience maintaining and optimizing Elastic clusters
• Experience working and developing capabilities in Linux and Windows
• Experience with automating project builds using shell scripts, Jenkins, and using and writing Makefiles
• Experience with Linux bash shell scripting
• Experience with HTML, JavaScript, Regular Expressions, JSON
• Experience building a Python web server and performing setup in Flask
• Experience working with varied file types including text, image, video, audio, binary
• Knowledge of machine learning is a plus
• Experience using automated data frameworks
