Job Description
RCH Solutions is seeking a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) & Workflow Automation Engineer to design, automate, and operate cloud-based platforms that support lab, research, data, and workflow-driven applications. This role will focus on GCP engineering, Python automation, ETL/data pipelines, Docker containerization, CI/CD, Terraform, and workflow or lab orchestration platforms such as Mendix, NAN, Nextflow, or similar systems.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on GCP experience and can build reliable automation around data movement, workflow execution, platform integrations, and cloud-native application deployment. The role requires collaboration with other engineers, data scientists, and application teams to modernize workflows, enable cloud-native development, and support large-scale analytics and scientific computing.
Responsibilities: 
  • Design, build, and support solutions on GCP, including services such as BigQuery, BigTable, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Agent Platform (formerly Vertex Ai), and related cloud-native services.
  • Develop and maintain ETL and data pipeline automation for structured and unstructured data workflows.
  • Build automation using Python and shell scripting to support workflow execution, data movement, platform integrations, monitoring, and operational tasks.
  • Support AI/ML and agent-based workloads including model integration, agent workflows, and AI-enabled automation where applicable.
  • Containerize applications, scripts, services, and workflow components using Docker.
  • Deploy containerized workloads to cloud-native platforms such as Cloud Run, or other managed GCP runtimes.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application deployment, infrastructure changes, workflow automation, and data pipeline releases.
  • Develop and maintain Terraform modules for repeatable GCP infrastructure deployments.
  • Support and integrate workflow or lab orchestration platforms such as Mendix, NAN, Nextflow, or similar tools.
  • Collaborate with application teams, data engineers, lab systems teams, and business stakeholders to translate workflow requirements into scalable cloud solutions.
  • Contribute to best practices around cloud security, logging, monitoring, reliability, automation, and cost optimization.
Essential Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience  
  • 5 + years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, IAM, or networking.
  • Strong programming and automation experience with Python.
  • Experience supporting ETL pipelines, data movement workflows, or data processing automation.
  • Experience with Docker containerization.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Terraform or another infrastructure-as-code tool.
  • Experience with workflow automation, lab orchestration, low-code platforms, or process automation tools such as Mendix, NAN, Nextflow, or similar.
  • Ability to troubleshoot cloud workloads across permissions, networking, containers, logs, data pipelines, and service integrations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Vertex AI / Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, including agents, model integration, or AI-enabled automation.
  • Experience with BigQuery performance tuning and cost optimization.
  • Experience with Dataflow, Dataproc, or Cloud Composer.
  • Experience supporting lab systems, research platforms, scientific data workflows, or regulated data environments.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, or serverless container platforms.
  • Experience with cloud cost controls, logging, monitoring, and operational dashboards.
