Role: Azure Platform Architect
Location: ONSITE- Raleigh NC
Duration: 6 months

Descriptions:
"Azure Architect - Leads application and workload migration discovery, assessment, and planning, and drives execution governance. The role partners with application owners, security, and operations to collect technical and business inputs, determine migration readiness, select migration approaches (rehost/refactor/retire/retain), define waves and sequencing, and ensure risks, dependencies, and acceptance criteria are understood.
• Azure Subscriptions and Landing Zones Design
• Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework, and Azure Well-Architected Framework
• Azure Migrations - discovery, assessment, dependency analysis, and migration waves
• Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery (ASR), Azure Database Migration Service (DMS), AzCopy or equivalent tools.
• Scripting for discovery/assessment reporting: PowerShell, Azure CLI, and/or Python.
• Azure Monitor, App Insights
• Azure DevOps, Github
• Azure Arc
8-12 years
• Lead end-to-end migration discovery: build and validate application inventory, identify owners, capture workload criticality, SLAs, and environment details (prod/non-prod).
• Perform migration assessments and readiness analysis: dependency mapping, sizing, constraints, licensing considerations, and identification of migration blockers.
• Define migration strategy per workload (e.g., rehost, re-platform, refactor, retire, retain) and produce a clear rationale, risks, and effort assumptions.
• Create migration waves and sequencing plans that account for dependencies, business calendars, and cutover complexity; maintain an integrated migration plan.
• Experience in migrating various Azure services: Virtual Machines, SQL, Storage accounts etc.
• Experience is implementing High availability & DR
• Strong documentation discipline: produce assessment outputs, target migration approach per app, and dependency diagrams
• Experience defining and running a "migration factory" operating model (intake, assessment, wave planning, cutover management, and reporting cadence).
• Experience assessing legacy Azure tenants retained for legal hold / retention and defining long-term retention strategies aligned to target platforms.
• Familiarity with migration of Microsoft Dynamics and Azure Arc
• Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert and/or Azure Administrator Associate"
