Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Invents, analyzes and designs magnetic components, and analog and digital circuits to meet specifications. Lead hardware design reviews to demonstrate product and circuit robustness.
2. Leads in the development of magnetic components, hardware and system level specifications.
3. Writes and reviews test plans, executes or supervises testing, evaluates and reviews test results for use in peer reviews and for project notebooks.
4. Prepares and maintains accurate project or program plans. Provides detailed labor estimates.
5. Leads multiple projects or programs of moderate complexity. Participates in the executive project processes.
6. Influences, mentors, and leads other engineers and technicians in the product development processes.
7. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
8. Understand. Create. Simplify.
9. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Typically 6+ years of experience in at least 2 of the following areas:

-- Transformer, Inductor, or other coiled component design

-- Analog circuit design and simulation (e.g. LTSpice)
-- Digital design with microprocessors/microcontrollers or programmable logic
-- Power supply design
-- Statistical Analysis using JMP or similar software
-- Field Simulation, Timing Analysis, and Signal Integrity (Ansys or similar)

-- MathCad/MatLab/Python for analysis
Demonstrated ability to mentor others
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)
Preferred Qualifications
Leadership experience or training
Strong project management knowledge and skills

Knowledge of one or more of the following:

-- Transformer design

-- Switch Mode Power Supply design

-- Industrial controls
-- 3-phase and electric power systems
-- Electric utility telecommunications

Pay Range Data

New hires generally start between $115,300 - $170,400. We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location.
