Job description

We are looking for a senior AI leader to drive enterprise AI strategy while remaining deeply involved in solution design and software development. This Long-term Contract opportunity is based in St. Paul, Minnesota, and is ideal for someone who can shape technical direction, influence executive decisions, and deliver scalable AI capabilities across the organization. The role combines architectural ownership, hands-on engineering, and cross-functional leadership to advance high-impact AI initiatives. You will also help establish durable standards for responsible AI, technical excellence, and future-ready innovation.


Responsibilities:

• Define and guide the long-range technical architecture for enterprise AI solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and platform scalability.

• Lead the design and development of advanced AI applications, contributing directly to coding efforts and technical problem-solving in Python and related technologies.

• Direct complex AI programs from concept through implementation, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver measurable organizational impact.

• Establish governance models, validation approaches, and ethical AI practices that support compliance, reliability, and responsible deployment.

• Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership by translating emerging AI opportunities into actionable technology plans and investment priorities.

• Design scalable distributed systems across cloud environments and data ecosystems to support high-volume AI workloads and production performance.

• Mentor senior engineers and AI practitioners, strengthen technical hiring and onboarding efforts, and help cultivate future engineering leaders.

• Evaluate evolving industry trends, tools, and frameworks to recommend improvements that enhance enterprise AI capability and long-term competitiveness.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, including significant work in applied artificial intelligence and machine learning.
• Strong proficiency in Python with a track record of building production-grade software solutions.
• Demonstrated success designing enterprise-scale, distributed AI systems with a focus on performance, resilience, and scalability.
• Deep knowledge of system architecture, cloud technologies, and modern data platforms used to support AI development and deployment.
• Proven leadership experience guiding technical teams, influencing stakeholders, and driving large-scale transformation initiatives.
• Expertise in AI governance, validation planning, and responsible AI practices within complex organizational environments.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to act as a trusted subject matter expert for both technical and executive audiences.
