Job description

Senior Python Developer | Fleet Management Software (EVs) | Startup Experience | Hybrid Model (San Francisco) | $150k-$210k USD + Benefits

The Company

They are developing a modern fleet management platform purpose-built for a world where electric vehicles are central to commercial transportation. Their technology eliminates the need for aftermarket hardware, enabling fleet operators to manage and monitor vehicles seamlessly through native connectivity. Driven by a deep commitment to advancing electrification, their team brings experience from globally recognized technology and mobility organizations. Over the past year, they have achieved significant revenue growth and secured strong backing from leading investors. As an early-stage, high-growth company, they are focused on redefining how businesses adopt and operate electric fleets at scale.

The Role

They are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer or Senior Python Developer to help design and deliver the core systems that power their fleet management platform. This individual will play a key role in shaping backend architecture, building scalable services, and contributing to the long-term technical vision of the product. As an early team member, this person will have meaningful ownership and the opportunity to directly influence the evolution of the platform and the broader transition toward connected and electric mobility.

The Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain backend services that support the fleet management platform.
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, design, sales, customer experience, and customers to bring new backend capabilities to market.
  • Strengthen core infrastructure with a focus on scalability, system resilience, and performance optimization.
  • Manage deployments, monitoring, and system reliability to ensure high uptime and service stability.
  • Diagnose and resolve infrastructure constraints, scaling challenges, and operational issues.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions, balancing speed of execution with long-term maintainability.
  • Build a strong understanding of customer workflows and the evolving electric fleet ecosystem to inform technical decisions.

The Requirements:

  • Startup experience required.
  • A genuine interest in the future of transportation and electrification.
  • Experience working across backend development and infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to design systems with scalability, reliability, and performance in mind.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS.
  • Proficiency in Go and/or Python.
  • A customer-centric approach to building dependable systems.
  • Initiative, ownership, and the ability to drive projects independently.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Effective collaboration within distributed teams.

Tech Stack:

  • GCP
  • MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis
  • Go
  • Python
  • React, TypeScript

If you are motivated by building foundational technology in a rapidly expanding market and want to help shape the future of electric mobility, they encourage you to apply and start the conversation.
