Job description

Enjet Aero machines and fabricates complex jet engine parts, components and assemblies for leading OEMs in the commercial, defense and general aviation sectors. Position Description:

Special Process Engineer reports to the Quality Manager and ensure that the company's special processes from development to post-manufacturing meet customer quality standards by identifying risks, developing corrective measures, and implementing quality control systems.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicates with all departments, suppliers and customers to solve problems and develop solutions, including deviations through various customer portals for special processes;
  • Reviews special process documentation as required to validate customer and internal requirements are met throughout all phase of product development and the quality management system.
  • Monitors changing developments for special processes and reports any changes to the Supervisor and fellow Engineers so that the changes can be studied and adopted for use in future estimates and processes
  • Assists in the design of in-process drawings and tool designs for special processes
  • Reviews special process non-conformance documentation and initiates corrective action both internal and external and maintains databases;
  • Responsible for special process calibrations and approving the special process calibration reports;
  • Responsible for approval/ recertification of special processes to the Aerospace NADCAP and customer requirements;
  • Responsible for the special process internal audit program;
  • Responsible for Heat Treat Pyrometry process;
  • Assist contract review regarding special process quality requirements;
  • Able to prepare and present supporting data for special process approval to customers;
  • Interprets customer specifications and standards;
  • Trains company personnel regarding customer quality specifications (i.e. GE P11TF12);
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures;
  • As needed supports Quality Engineers with the FAIR process for the company’s customers;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with AS9100 QMS AS9102 First Article and AS9145 APQP and PPAP standards
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in Aerospace manufacturing preferred
  • Experience with Aerospace NADCAP required
  • Experience in manufacturing or complex processing a plus.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as Quality Engineer.
