Job description

Solar/PV – Mid/Senior Technical

Our growth offers an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Career or Senior Technical Engineer with 5+ years of experience to provide engineering design for photovoltaic projects, both ground and roof-mounted. This position can work out of any of our Northeast offices.

An ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in electrical design, including detailed design and engineering analysis of PV / Solar Systems.

The scope of this role is both technical and strategic, requiring knowledge of electrical systems and design principles, as well as the ability to lead design teams and communicate effectively with clients and other disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design technical aspects of PV installations & associated electrical systems.
  • Perform detailed design calculations, including engineering loads and complex analysis.
  • Manage drawing lists, project sheets, and system design details.
  • Review and verify drawings for accuracy.
  • Conduct site investigations.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior staff on all technical aspects of design.

    Desired Experience:

    • Education: PE License preferred.
    • Experience: 5+ years in electrical system design.
    • Experience: Working on photovoltaic projects.
    • Skills & Expertise:
      • Strong knowledge of PV systems and design.
      • Ability to perform detailed design calculations and complex engineering analysis.
      • Effective leadership and client management skills.
      • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
      • Experience with BESS and building electrical systems is a plus.
      • Familiarity with Electrical codes including but not limited to NEC 690.
      • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or REVIT.
      • Ability to mentor and train junior staff.
