Job description

Escape Dothan in Dothan, AL is looking for a few WEEKEND GameMasters to join our team. We host one hour puzzle room adventures where players are locked in a themed room and must solve puzzles to escape in time. Please take note that this is largely a WEEKEND gig--you must be willing and able to work Friday and Saturday nights to be awarded this position--yes, that includes football season. Everyone starts at $8.25/hr. After a 4 weekend probationary period with the team you'll be evaluated to move to $9.25/hr then additional increases based on meeting milestones. Since this is an 'on standby' position we ask for all candidates to live close to the store, drive time when needed is important to us and our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests, sign them in and get them ready to play
  • Facilitate game play by watching/listening to players and sending clues as needed
  • Win or lose, bring players out, answer questions and take pictures
  • Light cleaning, restocking, room/prop repairs, occasional money handling

Qualifications

  • Outgoing personality, friendly with customers and able to make rooms fun
  • Handy with tools and ability to quickly affect minor repairs to keep rooms running (preferred)
  • Ability/willingness to work weekends all year (REQUIRED), possibly some weekdays (preferred)
  • Ability to access and understand schedule on smartphone, responding in an 'on call' set up for tiered shifts; reliable transportation
  • Basic keyboard/typing/computer skills. Good grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc.
  • Strong communication/responsiveness, reliability, punctuality
