Job description

Location + Job Details
Location: Magruder Hospital
Hospital Location: Port Clinton, OH
Brief Description: Port Clinton, Ohio is located a little more than an hour west of Cleveland, and about two hours from Columbus, making travel into one of these two major airports relatively convenient.  The drive from either of these sites is on either interstate or well maintained secondary roads.
Port Clinton is a Summer resort town on the shores of Lake Erie.   During the tourist season, the population of the town can double in size from 6500 to 12,000 at times.  Port Clinton is historically known for Put-In-Bay, which was the site of the Battle of Lake Erie during the War of 1812 fought between American Commander Oliver Hazzard Perry and British Commander Robert Heriot Barclay.  Perry won the day, which reopened Great Lakes Maritime activities largely curtailed by British command of the waters.  Perry was famously quoted in correspondence to General William Henry Harrison as saying "We have met the enemy, and they are ours".  The Battle of Lake Erie at Put-In-Bay became the best known battle of the War of 1812.
Port Clinton is also known as the "Walleye Capitol of the World", after the predominant species of fish in that area of Lake Erie, and the town hosts a Walleye Festival as well as many local restaurants featuring Walleye dishes ranging from battered Fish and Chips to gourmet style dishes.
