Job description

We are looking for a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT Services team! You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Microsoft Purview capabilities across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem to support data governance, compliance, and security initiatives. This role partners with IT, Security, Legal, and business stakeholders to identify, classify, protect, and monitor organizational data.

You will work independently on highly complex tasks related to diverse customer hardware, software, and access issues. You will also help develop processes and strategies to improve technical customer support and lead critical projects with advanced technical knowledge.

About You - experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • 7+ years of experience in Microsoft 365 security, compliance, or data governance roles
  • At least 4 years of experience with Microsoft Purview including compliance portal, DLP, sensitivity labeling, retention, and investigations
  • Strong understanding of data governance, privacy regulations, and compliance frameworks
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Experience with PowerShell and automation for Microsoft 365 administration
  • Experience with eDiscovery (Purview) and audit logs

  • Configure and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Insider Risk, and Data Lifecycle Management policies across Microsoft 365
  • Support data discovery and classification across SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Exchange
  • Administer Purview Data Security Investigations (DSI) and support compliance investigations using analytics and reporting tools
  • Monitor and optimize Purview configurations, delivering reporting, metrics, and continuous improvement recommendations

About the Team

The IT Security & Compliance team is focused on safeguarding organizational data and enabling secure collaboration across the enterprise. The team partners closely with infrastructure, application development, legal, and risk management teams to ensure alignment on security and compliance initiatives. This team is responsible for managing Microsoft 365 security tools, data governance programs, and regulatory compliance initiatives, while supporting critical investigations and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Hours of Work

  • Full-time permanent position primarily working core business hours in your time zone, with flexibility to adjust to various global time zones as needed.

  • Hybrid position working 2-3 days/week on-site.

  • Must live within a commutable distance toour Philadelphia, Ann Arbor or Kansas City offices
