Founded in 2014, Purple Carrot delivers clean, long-lasting energy through the power of plants. As the only company in America devoted entirely to plant-based eating, we have spent over a decade perfecting the balance of protein and fiber that only plants can provide. Offering chef-crafted, dietitian-designed meals delivered right to your door, we make plant-forward eating effortless, flexible, and endlessly exciting. Our menu spans quick weeknight dishes, occasion-worthy dinners, breakfast, lunch, snacks, and ready-to-eat meals.

Purple Carrot prioritizes taste and flexibility, offering no membership fees, the freedom to skip or unskip weekly deliveries whenever you want, and a no-pressure, cancel-anytime policy. We pride ourselves on doing plants better than anyone else - and we have the receipts to prove it.

Description

We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our mission-driven team. As an integral part of the Data team, you will join forces with the Senior Analytics Engineer in our continued effort to inspire people to eat more plants.

This position will play an important role in building and maintaining resilient, scalable data pipelines and company-wide data infrastructure that empowers Purple Carrot employees to better understand, manage, curate, and analyze the data most relevant to their work.

As the Analytics Engineer, you will be focused on maintaining and improving our data pipelines, supporting data systems and analytics, and helping develop rigorous data products within our modern data stack. This role will synthesize feedback from teams across the business and help translate data needs into reliable, well-documented solutions that allow us to move faster and gain better insights into how our business performs.

We greatly thank all applicants; however, only those under serious consideration will be contacted.

Location

  • This hybrid role is based in Dedham, MA
  • Our hybrid approach includes 3 days in-office each week, giving teams the best of both flexibility and collaboration. Many team members choose to come in more often - it’s a great way to stay inspired and engaged with the team.

On the Plate

  • Lead and contribute to the implementation and maintenance of end-to-end data pipelines and infrastructure, from ingestion through transformation and analytics.
  • Develop, test, and optimize data models and data warehouse architecture with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Ensure data quality through validation, monitoring, testing, and strong documentation practices.
  • Implement and uphold data governance standards, including data dictionaries, lineage, access controls, and clear ownership of business logic.
  • Build and maintain BI dashboards and reporting tools that help teams understand performance and make data-informed decisions.
  • Support occasional ad hoc and exploratory data analysis to help answer business questions and identify trends.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, pipelines, reporting logic, and key data definitions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Analytics Engineer and cross-functional partners to execute on defined workstreams within an established data framework.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks as necessary.

Main Ingredients for the Role

  • 2–3 years of experience in the data space as a senior data analyst, data analyst, analytics engineer, data engineer, or equivalent role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, computer science, information systems, business analytics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Able to commute to the Dedham, MA office 3 days per week.
  • Proficiency in SQL and dbt for data transformation, automation, and modeling.
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines using modern data stack technologies such as Git, dbt, Stitch, cloud data warehouses, or similar tools.
  • Strong background in data quality assurance, governance frameworks, and best practices for documentation.
  • Experience with BI and reporting tools such as Looker, Omni, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned workstreams while collaborating closely with a senior team member.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Extra Special Sauce

  • Experience working in or supporting a B2C subscription business model.
  • Comfortable working within an established data framework while driving execution independently on defined workstreams.
  • Strong curiosity and ability to translate business questions into clear, scalable data solutions.
  • Excitement for working in a dynamic environment where data helps teams make faster, smarter decisions.
  • You enjoy documentation, process improvement, and building systems that make work easier for others.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $100,00. Compensation is based on experience and qualifications, and the posted range is not a guarantee of any specific offer.
