Monday - Friday - 1st Shift (Day)
Package Handler

The Package Handler is responsible for safely and efficiently loading and unloading packages onto or from trailers by scanning, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling items up to 100 pounds. This role requires reading labels, verifying numbers, memorizing instructions, and working rapidly for extended periods. Most tasks are well defined and require general judgment or interpretation. Moderate supervision is provided.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Load and unload packages onto/off of trailers by scanning, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 100 lbs.
  • Read labels, verify numbers, and follow work instructions while meeting productivity metrics.
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks including sweeping, unpacking, and detrashing vehicles or shipments.
  • Attend safety meetings and report unsafe working conditions immediately.
  • Assist in orientation of new hire package handlers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 0--2 years of related experience.
  • Ability to use PC and/or RF-based computer systems may be required.
  • Knowledge of trailer loading/unloading preferred.
  • Familiarity with FedEx shipping software (PScan) preferred.
  • Knowledge of NASCR cafe labeling system preferred.
  • Promptness and attention to detail required.
  • Ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • May require Dangerous Goods certification and compliance with related shipping requirements.
  • Required to obtain Load - T-stacking certification.
  • Required to obtain CAN inspection certification.
  • Customer service driven.
  • Strong team player.
