Job Summary
The Industry Talent Pipeline Programs Manager will develop and administer programming to prepare students for careers in various industry sectors such as the Semiconductor and Pharmaceutical Industry. This includes administration of a new multi-disciplinary certificate programs, advising students on opportunities to enhance skills for the industry, and development and coordination of internships and co-ops with companies within particular industry sectors. The position will liaise with the Office of Industry Partners, faculty, and companies within various sectors to understand recruiting needs and develop opportunities for companies to engage with students. It will coordinate with faculty to develop specific curricular opportunities to develop skills for the industry including coordination of courses like OPP 101 Changing the World with Chips and OPP 111 Pharma Careers and Drug Development.

What You'll Be Doing:
Industry Relations
  • Interface with the Office of Industry Partnership and College of Engineering Industry Relations staff to report on student outcomes and collect feedback to improve programming and opportunities for students.
  • Develop and maintain industry partnerships in support of the Co-op, Learning While Working, GEARE Program, and Interns for Indiana Program, with focus efforts to increase participation amongst semiconductor companies and pharmaceutical companies.
  • Continually engage with industry to understand skill sets needed for students to engage in professional experiences earlier in their academic career.
  • Develop and coordinate recruitment opportunities for semiconductor and pharmaceutical companies including career fairs, company days, and job postings.

Student Programming, Advising, and Success
  • Create programming and communication to support the retention and development of students pursuing opportunities in the semiconductor or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry including orientations, professional development seminars, and industry visits.
  • Monitor success of students pursuing industry talent pipeline certificate programs and assist with experiential learning activities.
  • Prepare data to report on student experiences and progress.
  • Develop marketing material to highlight experiential learning program activities and achievements within particular industry sectors.
  • Provide program information including information related to Purdue's industry sector initiatives to students, families, and external partners via phone, video chat, or in-person meetings.

Instruction and Coordination of Professional Skills and Industry Knowledge Courses
  • Design and implement curriculum for professional skills courses including ENGR 10301 Intro to Professional Practice, OPP 101 Changing the World with Chips, and OPP 111 Pharma Careers and Drug Development. Engage industry and alumni to participate in the courses. Participate in the instruction of courses. Devise strategies to increase instructional capacity.
  • Serve as instructor of record for internship experience courses such as OPP 3099 Semiconductor Internship and OPP 31999 Pharma Internship.

Research and Assessment
  • Collaborate with academics to conduct research on Purdue's work-integrated experiential learning programs. Regularly participate in national and international conferences. Represent Purdue in professional associations. Participate in grant writing to develop resources and enhance the reputation of Purdue's work-integrated experiential learning programs.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology, Education, Communication, or Relevant Field
  • Four (4) years-experience in education, higher education, or industry
