The Company

B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Canada, Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries.

Position

Buyer II, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure 


Reporting to the Team Lead, Purchasing, this position will be based in Edmonton, AB, Canada

Responsibilities 

   Independently manage assigned purchase requests from requisition through delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies, delegated authority limits, and operational requirements.
   Source and procure equipment, materials, and services of moderate to high complexity, applying sound commercial judgment to balance cost, quality, delivery, and risk.
   Obtain, evaluate, and negotiate supplier quotations and commercial terms within defined authority levels, escalating only higher-risk or high-value matters as required.
   Prepare, issue, and maintain accurate purchase orders and supporting documentation in SAP S/4HANA, while actively managing order progress and expediting critical items.
   Resolve procurement-related issues including pricing variances, supply shortages, specification discrepancies, shipping documentation, and invoice concerns in coordination with internal stakeholders.
   Support supplier performance, cost control initiatives, continuous improvement activities, and provide informal guidance to Buyer's Assistant while adhering to Health and Safety and procurement standards.

Desired Competencies and Requirements 

   Three (3) years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, logistics, or a related discipline, preferably within mining, construction, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environments.
   Post-secondary diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
   Progress toward a professional supply chain designation (e.g., SCMP or CSCP) is considered an asset.
   Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA (asset).
   Demonstrated ability to analyze and evaluate supplier quotations with attention to cost, risk, delivery, and operational impact.
