We are seeking an experienced Tooling Manager to lead our Tool Room, Tool Service, and Punch Departments. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an individual who enjoys developing people, improving processes, solving manufacturing challenges, and driving operational excellence. The successful candidate will play a key role in increasing tooling efficiency, improving reliability, supporting production, and advancing continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and promote a strong safety-first culture.
  • Manage the daily operations of the Tool Room, Tool Service, and Punch Departments.
  • Supervise, train, coach, and develop department personnel.
  • Improve tooling quality, reliability, and production efficiency.
  • Develop and implement tooling concepts, methods, and standards that reduce costs and increase productivity.
  • Oversee tool maintenance, new tooling development, and vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate with production and support departments to troubleshoot tooling issues and minimize downtime.
  • Manage tooling inventories, department budgets, and purchasing requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and standardization efforts throughout the department.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree in Engineering, or Journeyman Tool and Die Maker certification.
  • 5–7 years of experience in a tool room environment.
  • Strong knowledge of punching and blanking dies.
  • Proficiency with CAD and CAM software.
  • Experience with CNC and conventional machining and grinding techniques.

Preferred

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with Wire EDM.
  • Experience with heat treatment processes.
  • Experience with fixture design.
  • Experience developing and implementing standard work practices.
