Position Summary: Plastic Molding Manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team. This role is essential in supporting our manufacturing operations by ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials, resins, equipment, and machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plastic injection molding and vendor negotiations.

Essential Functions:
  • Collaborate with planners and schedulers at manufacturing plants to procure raw materials, resins, equipment, and machinery.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure the most competitive pricing for all purchases.
  • Partner with plant teams to manage inventory levels and needs; review ERP systems for job exceptions and make necessary adjustments.
  • Adhere to and enforce corporate purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Meet or exceed annual cost reduction goals.
  • Work with distribution companies to source products across all company divisions.
Ideal Candidate Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or buying, specifically in plastic injection molding materials and resins.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to manage vendor relationships.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of resins and material requirements for industries such as medical and automotive.
  • Extensive background in plastic injection molding processes and materials.
  • Established network and business relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
