Job description

Do you have 3+ years of Excel experience, an understanding of demand planning, and at least 3 years of purchasing or buying experience in a wholesale, distribution, or manufacturing environment? Then this Purchasing Specialist opportunity could be a great fit for you!

Our client is a leading supplier of quality tools to major retailers and distributors. They offer a professional office environment, competitive pay, and long-term career opportunities with a growth-oriented company that values customer service and employees who take pride in their work.

As a Purchasing Specialist, you'll support daily purchasing operations by coordinating with vendors, tracking inbound shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring purchase orders are completed correctly and on time. Your work will play a key role in keeping products moving efficiently through the supply chain and supporting internal departments with accurate information.

This is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity that offers career stability, competitive pay, and the opportunity to grow with an established organization.

Purchasing Specialist Duties:
• Monitor open purchase orders, identify delays, and escalate issues as needed.
• Track delivery commitments and follow up with vendors to keep orders on schedule.
• Assist with direct import activities by coordinating documentation, freight forwarders, and inbound shipment tracking.
• Monitor inbound freight, container schedules, and shipment milestones to provide visibility to internal departments.
• Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, packing lists, and inventory records.

Schedule:
• Day Shift
• Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Pay: $22.00-$34.00 per hour

Purchasing Specialist Requirements:
• At least 3 years of purchasing or buying experience in a wholesale, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of Excel experience.
• 3+ years of experience processing and managing purchase orders.
• Experience coordinating with vendors regarding availability, lead times, and product readiness.
• Understanding of demand planning and inventory management principles.
