Job description

Job Title: Subcontracts Administrator

Location: Houma, LA

Position Overview: The Subcontracts Administrator is responsible for supporting the subcontracting process and the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and/or services.  Reports directly to the Purchasing Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

·                  Prepares requests for quote packages, conducts bidders' conferences, analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates subcontract pricing, selects or recommends subcontractors, writes awards (with supervision), and administers resulting subcontracts.

·                  Negotiates and coordinates additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts.

·                  Issuing purchase orders.

·                  Following up with requesters and end users regarding purchase orders.

·                  Assisting with supplier metrics and advising suppliers of their performance

·                  Reviewing statements of work material specifications, service contracts, and terms and conditions when required.

·                  Acting as liaison and point of contact with the supplier on formal communications and deliverables.

·                  Acting as liaison and point of contact for coordination and communication with all departments on subcontract related issues.

Qualifications:

·                  Minimum one year experience in a business environment.  Experience in subcontract-related fields like Contract Administration or Purchasing preferred but not required.

·                  Familiar material and service sourcing activities such as quoting, analyzing, negotiating, reporting and supplier rationalization.

Skills and Abilities:

·                  Strong communication and writing skills

·                  Ability to present information articulately with an understanding of details.

·                  Possess ability to work in a high paced environment.

·                  Basic knowledge of procurement practices in a Government Contracting environment.

·                  Ability to maintain effective working relationships with management, co-workers, and external customers
