- Experience in agricultural purchasing, feed milling, grain handling, or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of commodities, freight, and supply chain logistics
- Excellent organizational and negotiation skills
- Proficient with spreadsheets, inventory systems, and basic accounting practices
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- High school diploma required; ag-related education a plus

Hason Agri-Placement is representing a high-quality feed manufacturing company that is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Feed Mill Purchasing Agent to manage the procurement of grain, ingredients, packaging, and operating supplies for their feed mill. This role plays a critical part in controlling costs, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring uninterrupted production while building strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Purchase grains, feed ingredients, minerals, packaging, and mill supplies
- Monitor commodity markets and pricing trends to optimize purchasing decisions
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, freight, and delivery terms with suppliers
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and reorder points
- Coordinate deliveries with mill operations and logistics
- Verify purchase orders, invoices, and pricing accuracy
- Track supplier performance, quality, and reliability
- Work closely with production, quality assurance, and accounting teams
- Ensure compliance with food/feed safety, traceability, and regulatory requirements
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality or reliability
