Job description

We are is seeking a dependable and organized Yard Supervisor / Purchaser to oversee daily yard operations while managing the purchasing and inventory of roofing materials. This is a hands-on position that requires strong organizational skills, computer proficiency, and knowledge of commercial roofing materials.
What You'll Do
  • Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse and yard to ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Schedule deliveries, pickups, and material transfers to support field operations.
  • Purchase roofing materials, tools, and supplies while maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Track inventory levels and ensure materials are available for upcoming projects.
  • Receive, inspect, and organize incoming shipments.
  • Coordinate material staging and loading for crews.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and purchasing records using computer systems.
  • Monitor company equipment and ensure accountability for issued tools and materials.
  • Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and branch leadership to meet operational needs.
  • Ensure all yard activities comply with company safety standards.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in warehouse, yard, purchasing, or inventory management.
  • Knowledge of commercial roofing materials is required.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and inventory/purchasing software.
  • Experience scheduling deliveries, material orders, and logistics.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and time management skills.
  • Forklift experience is preferred (or willingness to become certified).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to pass an MVD (Motor Vehicle Division) check.
