Position Purpose: Under the direction of the System Manager of Purchasing, the Buyer assists in the support activities of the purchasing department by ensuring good communications and proper documentation of all purchases of the facility. Maintains the materials' management purchasing system.
Key Job Activities:
 Inventory management and replenishment of assigned items.
 Coordinates product returns.
 Performs clerical duties as required. Maintains paperwork.
 Interfaces with Sinai Chicago staff to provide support.
 Assures record accuracy. Makes appropriate entries into to ERP system.
 Enters service documentation received from hospitals and clinics.
 Interfaces with Accounts Payable staff to correct price discrepancies.
 Timely issuance of Purchase Orders.
 Reviews and follows up on backorders.
 Reports major price discrepancies to the Purchasing Manager.
 Assists System Director Supply Chain with the solicitation and analysis of bids.
 Communicates to departments the status of orders.
 Calculates and utilizes the most cost-effective way to combine orders.
 Assists other areas of the Supply Chain department as required.
 Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience:
 Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
 Two years' experience in procurement within a healthcare environment Knowledge and Skills:
 Experience in a healthcare ERP system preferred, especially EPIC and MEDITECH
 Strong math skill
