Job Description Summary:The Assistant Manager, Purchasing is responsible for supporting end-to-end supply chain operations through strategic procurement, inventory management, demand planning coordination, vendor relationship management, and operational process improvement. The role works closely with Sales, Product Management, Logistics, Warehouse, Finance, and suppliers to ensure product availability, optimize inventory levels, mitigate supply risks, and support the company's business objectives. The position requires strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Job Description:
  • Plan, create, and manage purchase orders to ensure timely procurement of products and materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels, sales trends, and supply requirements to maintain optimal stock availability while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Analyze demand forecasts and collaborate with internal stakeholders to support inventory and replenishment planning.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including supplier performance monitoring, issue resolution, and ongoing communication regarding orders, lead times, and supply risks.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and other procurement-related conditions to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate inbound shipments and work closely with Logistics and Warehouse teams to ensure timely product receipt and inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor backorders, stock shortages, and supply interruptions while developing mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Finance, and Operations teams to align inventory strategies with business requirements.
  • Support S&OP activities by providing purchasing, inventory, supplier, and demand-related analysis.
  • Review and analyze supply chain performance metrics, including inventory turns, fill rates, service levels, vendor performance, and forecast accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in system enhancements, automation initiatives, and cross-functional projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, and internal controls.
  • Prepare regular reports, dashboards, and management updates related to purchasing, inventory, supplier performance, and supply chain activities.
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory planning, demand planning, supply chain, or related functions.
  • Experience managing purchase orders, vendor communications, and inventory replenishment activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make business recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and inventory management functions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

The anticipated compensation range is
