Position Summary:

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for leading the procurement function for IDD Aerospace, located in Redmond, WA. This role owns key purchasing metrics, driving continuous improvement, and partners closely with all internal stakeholders, including sourcing, production planning, operations, finance, quality, customer service, engineering, and program management teams. The successful candidate will build and develop a world-class Procurement team through effective staffing, training, and talent management, and will model for integrity, inclusion, and diversity. The Purchasing Manager must bring problem-solving skills, critical-thinking skills, and a “can-do” approach for driving process improvement and business execution. This position requires the candidate to be onsite Mondays thru Fridays.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Procurement team to support customer requirements with a strong focus on material availability and operational needs
  • Mentor and coach team members to support career growth and ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Execute procurement strategy & vision to enable business value and productivity
  • Develop and maintain KPI’s, including SOTD, inventory levels, cost of purchased goods, on-time release of PO’s, past due purchase orders, etc
  • Review, refine, and continuously improve procurement processes to enhance business performance
  • Oversee all phases of Procurement while meeting financial targets
  • Optimize inventory through implementation of advanced supply processes such as VMI, blanket POs, and consigned inventory while balancing negotiated volumes with suppliers
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in Procurement for cost reductions, improved quality, on-time delivery, and lead-time reductions
  • Establish standard work and ensure discipline on tactical procurement execution
  • Partner with strategic sourcing to build and maintain a competent network of capable suppliers
  • Work directly with suppliers to resolve issues impacting, but no limited to, performance, quality, invoice discrepancies, and corrective actions
  • Escalate supply related issues to leadership in timely manner
  • Drive quick turn around on RTV’s with vendors
  • Ensue customer requirements are flowed down to suppliers
  • Responsible for satisfying the needs of internal and external customers by responding to requests and understanding requirements while building successful & productive customer relationships
  • Support internal and external audits, compliance initiatives, and customer production readiness assessments



Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience leading and developing a Purchasing team.
  • Aerospace experience preferred
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize duties to meet deadlines
  • Ability to interact with C-level executives and make presentations to that level
  • Hands-on experience managing work transfers
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Proven track record of driving results within Supply Chain
