WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a member of the Purchasing department,The Purchasing Agent is responsible for order placement from our suppliers. Tasks include utilization of our forecasting system, projecting stock levels, monitoring the timeliness of deliveries, ensuring the adequate supply of all required materials, components and equipment, delivering cost savings for the company, managing supplier relationships including price negotiation, helping to source alternative items, resolving disputes and claims with suppliers, maintaining current and accurate supplier programs, developing relationships with new distributors, and working to create and promote a safe environment. Some overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Review and verify purchase requisitions generated by the forecasting system
  • Utilize forecasting tools to maintain appropriate inventory levels and prevent material shortages
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders while verifying pricing, specifications, and delivery requirements
  • Place orders with suppliers and proactively monitor order status to ensure on-time delivery
  • Maintain adequate supplies of materials, components, and equipment to support production schedules
  • Analyze purchasing data, inventory trends, and supplier performance to support planning and decision-making
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and other purchasing terms with supplier
  • Source alternative products and suppliers to improve cost, quality, and availability
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers
  • Resolve supplier disputes, shortages, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies.
  • Process returns for non-conforming materials and coordinate replacement parts as needed
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, and documentation
  • Work collaboratively with Manufacturing, Planning, Inventory, Accounting, and Quality to support operational goals
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Required

  • 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and data entry
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and continuously improve
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship

Helpful but not required

  • Experience working in an Aerospace or Manufacturing environment
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and inventory forecasting software
  • Knowledge of supplier negotiations, inventory management, and purchasing best practices

COMPENSATION AND SCHEDULE

Monday Friday
7:30 a.m. 4:00 p.m.

Starting Pay: $24-$37/hr.
