About The Opportunity

Looking for a Purchasing Specialist that will schedule and purchase materials to support production schedules while maximizing plant efficiencies and profitability and meeting established customer service levels.Key Duties

1. Plan and control appropriate levels of inventory to support production, including cycle count program.

2. Liaison between scheduler and vendor for needed info (delivery dates/tracking, etc).

3. Initiate, review, and process purchase requisitions.

4. Review SAP requirements and issue PO's per scheduled dates.

5. Coordinate with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Communicate with vendors - service, quality and expectations.

6. Review and manage change requests from customers, plants, and suppliers; reschedule as necessary.

7. Research new parts needed, get quotes, initiate MDX request for new part setup.

8. Confirm delivery dates of PO with vendors for each line, each PO, follow up late PO's with vendors.

9. Reconcile blocked invoices daily.

10. Vendor record maintenance including set up new vendors as needed (Send vendor packet, follow up, enter in SAP, submit for approval) and communicate with vendors service, quality and expectations.

11. Develop and maintain all master data related to planning, such as safety stock, lead times and lot size.

12. Support inventory management directives.

13. Other duties as assigned.

Work Experience

3-5 years of experience in manufacturing

2-5 years of experience in a plastics or fabrication environment (preferred)
