JOB MISSION:
Under general supervision this position is responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely and complete processing of payroll for a multi-state, multi-company organization in the U.S. and Canada. As a member of this team the Payroll Associate II will ensure proper audits and controls are maintained, provide timely and accurate financial information and support company operations by providing superior customer service.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Perform daily payroll department functions utilizing established operating procedures.
  • Follow prescribed auditing procedures to ensure all transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Follow prescribed control procedures to ensure accurate reporting of payroll data.
  • Validate accuracy of payroll through extensive pre & post transmission audit procedures.
  • Establish & maintain multi-jurisdictional taxing profiles in accordance with Federal, State and Local statutes.
  • Assist associates with direct deposit accounts.
  • Audit associate timecards
  • Provide payroll data for 401K & FSA wire transfers.
  • Validate associate health and welfare benefit deductions.
  • Process supplemental & incentive payments.
  • Execute relocation payments and inclusion in income.
  • Process wage garnishments ensuring compliance with Federal & State regulations.
  • Perform gross up calculations for Award programs.
  • Process employee Auto Allowance Imputed, Purchase Program, Total Fit, Commuter, Fitness, Lifestyle & Student Loan programs.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Continuously strive for improvements by seeking new and improved ways of accomplishing tasks more efficiently and effectively.
  • Identify payroll system utilization improvements.
  • Provide external reporting in compliance with federal, state, and regulatory requirements for various miscellaneous reporting - distribute as needed.
  • Provide customer service to associate population and strategic partners.
  • Participate in cross functional collaborative meetings to enhance daily operations support.
  • Perform extensive year-end audit reviews of W2's.
  • Process fringe benefit entries at year end.

Canada Responsibilities
  • Update taxable benefit entries for Canadian associates.
  • Identify and ensure proper application of various taxing limits and adherence to Canadian statutes.
  • Prepare Canadian Associate ROE's.
  • Work with Canada revenue agency/Revenue Quebec to resolve issues.
  • Perform WSIB & EHT reconciliations.
  • Perform extensive year-end audit reviews of T4's & Releve1.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
  • Associates degree in a business field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years payroll/accounting experience in the U.S. and Canada with a focus on internal controls.
  • Excellent computer and analytical skills including advanced Microsoft Excel for preparation of moderately complex spreadsheets.
  • Good organizational skills, excellent customer service, problem solving, communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment while affecting change.
  • Attention to detail and exposure to Workday.
  • Possess an understanding of multi-state/multi-provincial payroll rules and regulations including taxes.

Lawrence, MA Corp Only Pay Range: $21.30 - $26.65 - $31.95 Hourly (actual base pay varying based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, internal equity, geographic location, and more.)
