Job description

Our Purchasing Buyer is responsible for all materials and inventory entering our Monitory Manufacturing Division. This includes intercompany shipments and external suppliers, both domestic and international, and production entries.

** Please note that this is an on-site position **

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 1-2 years of experience in related field is required
  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business administration, or a similar field is preferred
  • Strong computer and data analytic skills
  • Ability to utilize an integrated ERP system
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Forecasting experience desired
  • Self-motivated, organized, and effective time management
  • Ability to travel, up to 5%
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage delivery schedules using Material Resource Planning (MRP) to determine order quantities & delivery schedules.
  • Reschedule orders and deliveries as needed to both minimize excess material and ensure continuity of supply.
  • Establish and maintain lot sizes to leverage supplier economic order quantities and optimize container utilization.
  • Work with operations to ensure efficient use of available space.
  • Select appropriate supplier to meet cost and delivery targets.
  • Process purchase order requests to meet material demands for the location.
  • Review and provide input to forecasted usage.
  • React to customer order and forecasted demand changes and maintain system due dates and planning parameters.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Research and obtain corrective action plans for supplier quality issues.
  • Contribute to operational excellence by meeting departmental and company KPI’s.
  • Actively participate in yearly Physical Inventory.
  • Other purchasing duties as assigned.
