Freeman Boatworks is seeking a hands-on Quality Control Manager to lead quality operations across our manufacturing environment.


This role is responsible for overseeing the quality process from incoming materials through final production, ensuring products meet company standards while driving continuous improvement across the manufacturing floor.


The ideal candidate is comfortable balancing people leadership, process oversight, troubleshooting, reporting, root cause analysis, and day-to-day production support. This person will lead a team, partner cross-functionally with production and engineering, and help build scalable quality systems as we continue to grow.


What You'll Do
Lead and develop the Quality team across manufacturing operations
Own quality processes from incoming materials through final product release
Establish and maintain quality standards, inspection processes, work instructions, and controls
Monitor production quality and identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
Investigate quality concerns and lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
Partner with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations to resolve issues and improve outcomes
Develop and maintain quality KPIs, dashboards, and reporting for leadership
Audit manufacturing processes and ensure procedures and standards are consistently followed
Lead training and development related to quality expectations and workmanship standards
Develop and maintain documentation, quality records, and process controls
Troubleshoot issues directly on the production floor and support real-time problem resolution
Promote a culture focused on workmanship, accountability, and continuous improvement

Experience leading Quality, Manufacturing, or Operations teams
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments
