Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.

Spirit AeroSystems' Raw Material Commodity Purchasing Team is responsible for the procurement of both metallic and non-metallic materials. The company has contracts and agreements in place with top-tier suppliers across the globe. Procurement Agents have responsibility for various pieces of the purchased component life cycle including requirement identification, sourcing, order placement and receipt/delivery. Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

Responsible for synchronization of a supply chain for obtaining goods and services for the company. Interfacing with internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure quality parts are delivered, to the right place, at the right time.

Performs part or all the following:

  • Acts as an authorized agent of the company with responsibility for managing supplier-related activities and authority to commit company resources through contracts, agreements, and purchase orders.
  • Develops requests for quotations and proposals, analyzes supplier responses, negotiates and awards contracts, and manages post award supplier activities.
  • Interfaces with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Manages inventory levels, purchase orders, and supplier performance.
  • Monitors customer inventory demand and material assets to optimize total supply chain planning. Incorporates planning decisions from customers and suppliers to reduce material and product variability and arrive at optimal solutions.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 2+ years of experience in a supply chain role, preferably within the metallic or non-metallic raw materials, aerospace or manufacturing industry
  • Microsoft Office, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written with any leadership level
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Project Management experience and skills highly valued
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, process oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships, leveraging effective communication and influence to achieve desired business outcomes

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Excellent Data Analysis and Problem Solving skill is a plus
  • Knowledge or experience in manufacturing, manufacturing materials and processes is advantageous
  • Familiarity with MRP Systems, with preference given to SAP experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience. An MBA is a plus

Summary Pay Range - (Level 2): $54,550 - $83,650
