Job description

Olsson Industrial Electric seeks a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to support the purchasing department.  This position is ideal for someone who is organized, efficient, and eager to support construction projects from behind the scenes.  A strong interest or background in electrical materials or construction is a definite plus.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Review and complete purchase documentation ensuring the completeness and accuracy of purchases made by purchasing agents within the department.
  • Assist in the procurement of miscellaneous materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Create and process purchase orders in line with company guidelines.
  • Track orders to ensure timely delivery and follow up with vendors on order status or delays.
  • Maintain and update supplier records, pricing information, and purchase documentation.
  • Coordinate with accounting for invoice verification and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Participate in daily safety talks.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required

1-3 years of purchasing or administrative experience, ideally in the construction or electrical industry.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with procurement or ERP systems is a plus.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Base pay is $23-$26+ per hour (DOE).
