Key Personnel is seeking a Purchaser / Buyer in Collinsville, OK
Job Title: Purchaser / Buyer
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Range: $22.00–$30.00/hr DOE

Purchaser / Buyer Job Summary
Key Personnel is seeking an experienced Purchaser / Buyer to support the Supply Chain team for a local manufacturing company. This position will be responsible for purchasing materials, monitoring purchase orders, communicating with vendors, maintaining purchasing records, and ensuring materials are received according to established specifications and schedules.The ideal candidate will have strong purchasing experience, excellent data entry skills, and manufacturing experience, preferably within a metal fabrication environment. This is an opportunity to join a growing team with potential for long-term employment and advancement.

Purchaser / Buyer Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Monitor open purchase orders from order placement through receipt of materials.
  • Review purchase order revisions and ensure changes are accurately documented.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, delivery schedules, order status, and discrepancies.
  • Identify and communicate potential purchasing issues, PO variances, vendor discrepancies, and schedule delays.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing catalogs, files, records, and purchase order documentation.
  • Track and follow up on problem invoices to ensure timely resolution and processing.
  • Source and purchase materials based on production and departmental needs.
  • Coordinate pickup and delivery of materials with local suppliers and company transportation.
  • Maintain accurate vendor records and documentation.
  • Assist with setting up new vendors within the company's purchasing system.
  • Maintain current insurance documentation for active vendors.
  • Review vendor acknowledgements and verify terms and conditions against purchase orders.
  • Perform purchasing-related data entry and maintain accurate information within company systems.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain, Production, Shipping/Receiving, and other departments to ensure material requirements are met.
  • Provide backup support to other purchasing team members as needed.
  • Assist with identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Supply Chain and Purchasing operations.
Purchaser / Buyer Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; some college or technical coursework preferred.
  • Previous purchasing or buyer experience required.
  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred, particularly within a metal fabrication or industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of purchasing practices, procedures, and vendor management.
  • Strong data entry and computer skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Experience with purchasing or ERP systems is preferred.
