Job description

Walnut Grove Animal Clinic is looking for some new team members to join our kennel staff in taking care of our dogs and cats that are staying with us and also spend time outside with our daycare pups. We treat every animal that comes through our doors like our own and work hard to make sure that they have the best stay with us. We are looking for someone who shares the same love for animals.

Responsibilities of a kennel staff member include:

  • Communication with clients when checking in or checking out their animals
  • Cleaning out the kennels (including urine, feces and vomit)
  • Feed, water, walk, and play with pups and cats
  • Bathing dogs
  • General clean up
  • Maintaining a positive attitude towards clients, coworkers, and, of course, all of our clients
  • Communication with our vet staff to insure proper care for all of our guests
  • Loving and playing with our pups in playtime
  • Supervise large play groups
  • Attention to detail is a MUST

Requirements of a kennel staff

  • Willingness to work some weekends and some holidays
  • Some experience with animals is preferred. If none, willingness to learn
  • Genuine love and respect for all animals
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

This is a very rewarding and fun job! It also can be very fast paced at times and is taken very seriously to ensure that all of our pets are comfortable, safe, and well taken care of.
