Job description

Innovation starts from the heart. Our Advanced Innovation & Technology (AI&T) teams harness the imagination, courage, and resourcefulness to think beyond what's currently possible, and create solutions for patients many years into the future. If you're an early-stage innovator, then Edwards AI&T team is the place for you to take the next steps in your career. We'll give you the tools and resources you need to create groundbreaking innovations that shape the future of structural heart technology.

The Enterprise BPM Program Lead is accountable for establishing, operating, and scaling Edwards Lifesciences' enterprise-wide Business Process Management (BPM) capability to advance business process maturity across the organization. This role owns BPM governance, BPMN standards, enterprise process architecture, and process intelligence practices that enable consistent, data-driven process improvement.

While Order to Cash (O2C) is the initial focus (spanning Finance, Global Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Distribution) this role is intentionally process-agnostic and designed to expand across additional end-to-end enterprise processes over time. The role partners closely with business domain SMEs and leaders who bring process knowledge, while this position ensures enterprise consistency, architectural structure, value realization, and long-term sustainability of the BPM capability.

This role is based at our Irvine, CA headquarters, and we offer relocation support to ensure a smooth transition for the right candidate.

How you will make an impact:

  • Establish and lead the enterprise BPM capability, including vision, operating model, governance, standards, and success metrics across business domains (30%).

  • Define, maintain, and govern enterprise BPMN standards and process architecture, ensuring consistency, scalability, and audit readiness (25%).

  • Partner with business domain SMEs and process owners to lead process discovery, validation, and target-state definition, remaining process-agnostic while ensuring enterprise alignment (20%).

  • Lead process intelligence and analytics enablement, including KPI frameworks, value realization tracking, and engagement with process mining platforms (e.g., Celonis) to surface how processes operate versus designed intent (15%).

  • Facilitate structured process discovery sessions (e.g., "walk-the-wall" workshops) to map current-state workflows, uncover exceptions and variations, and validate findings with cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Catalog and govern enterprise business processes in a systematic, reusable way to inform future-state design, modernization initiatives, and ERP platform planning (e.g., ERP blueprinting for future selection and finance capabilities).

  • Lead and develop a distributed BPM delivery model (US leadership with Pune-based execution), including prioritization, quality oversight, and performance management (10%).

  • Provide people leadership, including direct management responsibility, coaching, hiring decisions, and partnership with HR on employee relations.

  • Integrate meaningful metrics and reporting into BPM initiatives to clearly demonstrate business value, cost reduction, and revenue enablement.

  • Contribute to enterprise transformation initiatives and strategic planning activities as assigned (5%).

  • Deep understanding of IT procedures and related processes, with the ability to define operating standards and ensure consistent adherence across areas of responsibility

  • Proven people management capability, including coaching, performance management, hiring and termination decisions, and partnership with HR on employee relations

  • Ability to develop and integrate metrics that clearly demonstrate the value of IT initiatives and operations to the business

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality execution

  • Effective communicator who can interact professionally at all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues as needed

  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced, dynamic, and evolving environment

  • Accountable for team performance and results; able to advise and actively engage as needed to meet timelines and resolve issues

  • Capability to provide technical and functional guidance to team members, peers, and stakeholders

  • Adhere to all Edwards policies, procedures, and Environmental Health & Safety requirements.

What you'll need (Required):

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and relevant experience, or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria.

  • Experience working with large-scale enterprise platforms such as ERP (e.g., JD Edwards), Order to Cash (O2C), CRM, or similar systems.

  • Strong expertise in BPMN and end-to-end process architecture, applied across multiple business process domains.

  • Ability to engage professionally with stakeholders at all organizational levels and proactively escalate risks and issues when appropriate.

What else we look for (Preferred):

  • 8+ years of experience leading enterprise BPM, process excellence, or business transformation capabilities.

  • Hands-on exposure to process mining / process intelligence platforms, preferably Celonis (highly desired); familiarity with alternatives such as Signavio or comparable tools.

  • Familiarity with adjacent enterprise platforms (e.g., MES, Salesforce/CRM, PLM/Idea-to-Market) to support holistic business capability modeling.

  • Experience establishing process governance models, operating rhythms, and enterprise standards.

  • Ability to lead through influence in a highly matrixed organization and partner effectively with domain SMEs.

  • Demonstrated ability to define operating standards and operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving enterprise environment.

  • Experience defining process KPIs, value realization frameworks, and executive reporting.

  • People management experience, including leading global and distributed teams.

  • High degree of independence, sound judgment, and comfort operating in ambiguity.

  • Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement certification.

  • Experience operating in regulated industries (e.g., life sciences, med tech, healthcare, manufacturing, financial services).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer- and value-oriented mindset.

Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families.
For California (CA), the base pay range for this position is $121,000 to $171,000 (highly experienced).
The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience). Applications will be accepted while this position is posted on our Careers website.
