CNC Laser Punch Press Operator: Machesney Park, Illinois
Our customer in Machesney Park, Illinois, is looking for a skilled, detailoriented individual to join their team as a CNC Laser Punch Press Operator to work fulltime on 1st shift. In this role, you will operate a Trumpf combination laser punch machine to cut and punch sheet metal components while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards.
Responsibilities of the CNC Laser Punch Press Operator:
  • Operate a Trumpf combination laser punch press to cut and punch sheet metal parts.
  • Perform machine setup, tooling changes, and basic adjustments as required.
  • Load and unload raw materials safely and efficiently.
  • Create, load, and run programs to meet production specifications.
  • Monitor machine operation to ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency.
  • Inspect finished parts to verify they meet specifications and tolerances.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
  • Use precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and report mechanical issues as needed.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  • Keep machines and work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times.
CNC Laser Punch Press Operator Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience operating CNC laser or punch press equipment required.
  • Experience with Trumpf laser/punch combination machines strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and part specifications.
  • Understanding of tolerances and quality requirements.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Familiarity with TruTops or similar nesting/programming software preferred.
