Punch List Carpenters are skilled tradespeople responsible for completing final finishing tasks on construction projects. They address items on a 'punch list,' which is a document listing work that needs to be completed or corrected before a project is considered finished. Their duties often include fixing minor issues like adjusting doors, patching drywall, installing hardware, or touching up paint. Punch List Carpenters help ensure the final quality of a build meets the client's standards and all specifications are satisfied before handover. Their attention to detail is crucial for delivering a polished and fully functional finished product.

Punch List Carpenters often encounter the challenge of managing tight deadlines while ensuring high-quality workmanship on last-minute fixes. They must coordinate closely with project managers, subcontractors, and inspectors to address any deficiencies identified during final walkthroughs. Attention to detail is critical, as even minor oversights can delay project completion or client sign-off. Flexibility and strong problem-solving skills are essential, as each project may present unique issues that require creative solutions.

  • Use StruXure to document project progress and submit daily reports.
  • Assist in maintaining organized, clean, and safe job sites.
  • Perform hands-on carpentry, fixturing, and installation work.

By the 90-Day Mark and Ongoing:

  • Effectively coordinate daily field activities under the supervision of the Field Manager.
  • Identify and communicate potential jobsite issues before they impact the schedule.
  • Promote and enforce safety procedures consistently.
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship that meets EWB standards.

Within the 6th Month Mark and Ongoing:

  • Confidently oversee daily jobsite operations with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate leadership presence with subcontractors and field crews.
  • Maintain strong organization of jobsite materials, equipment, and documentation.
  • Support the Field Manager in driving schedule performance.
  • Consistently deliver clean and organized work areas with minimal punch list items.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong carpentry and fixturing experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Proficient with standard carpentry hand tools.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and scissor lift.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated history of working safely and adhering to safety standards.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work on roofs.
  • Lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
  • Work extended hours outdoors in various climates.
  • Has reliable means of transportation.
  • Able to travel for up to two weeks at a time.
