Job description

PURPOSE AND ROLE:

This Level II Maintenance Pump Mechanic position is for a person with strong rotating equipment skills. This position supports the day-to-day operation of the site solving issues primarily within the pump mechanic field, but with opportunities to work in other traditional maintenance skill areas.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Mastery of the Pump Mechanic craft
  • Developing in a secondary craft skill
  • Willing to work in and/or learn any or all maintenance skill areas in the Plant
  • Must have ability to direct contractors and other Maintenance employees as needed
  • Ability to operate all moving equipment (forklift, man lift, all-terrain, etc.)
  • Ability to read P & ID’s and other job-related documents
  • Must have good safety awareness and follow all policies and procedures
  • Any other tasks as assigned


REQUIRED EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCES: 

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years’ work experience as a rotating equipment mechanic or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
  • Willing and able to work days, nights, weekend hours as required by the job 
  • Must be willing to carry a phone and respond to call-outs
  • Must be willing to participate in weekly call-out rotations
  • Must follow all safety rules and participate in all scheduled training
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal amount of supervision


PREFERRED EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCES: 

  • Two-year associate’s or technical degree in maintenance preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Prior supervisory experience highly preferred
