Job description

PUMP MECHANIC

Pay Rate: $25 - 30

Schedule: TBD


Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, mechanically inclined Pump Mechanic to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial pumping equipment. This is a hands-on position working with pumps and other rotating/mechanical equipment used in industrial, environmental, construction, and dewatering applications. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience disassembling, repairing, and rebuilding pumps and related equipment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial pumps and related mechanical equipment.
  • Disassemble and reassemble centrifugal and submersible pumps, motors, gearboxes, and associated components.
  • Diagnose failures involving seals, bearings, impellers, shafts, motors, hoses, and other pump components.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, cleaning, testing, and component replacement.
  • Repair and maintain diesel-powered pumps, generators, and other rental equipment as needed.
  • Perform quality and operational testing following repairs to ensure equipment is ready for service.
  • Complete service orders and accurately document repairs, parts used, maintenance performed, and additional repairs needed.
  • Assist with field repairs and equipment setup at customer job sites when required.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and other mechanic/shop equipment safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all environmental, health, and safety requirements.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous pump mechanic, pump technician, rotating equipment, diesel mechanic, or industrial equipment repair experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience repairing centrifugal and/or submersible pumps highly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment failures.
  • Experience with bearings, seals, impellers, motors, gearboxes, and related components preferred.
  • Diesel engine, electrical, welding, or generator experience is a plus.
  • Ability to safely perform physically demanding work, including standing, bending, climbing, and lifting heavy or awkward equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer job sites as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced industrial environment.
