Job description

Pump Attendant

The role of a Pump Attendant will provide service to customers such as pump gasoline, greeting customers, conducting customer transactions, and other assigned duties.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide friendly service to customers
  • Operate cash register to enter a convenience store and gasoline purchases
  • Greet and assist customers
  • Assist with fuel dispensers
  • Account for all monies
  • Clean gas pumps and surrounding areas
  • Light janitorial duties, collect and dispose of trash, wash windows, clean and maintain equipment, lot, car wash and building interior/exterior
  • Maintain car wash
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift
  • Must be flexible to work various schedules such as weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
  • Must have the ability to accurately handle money
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Must be capable of effectively communicating with customers and co-workers
  • Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated

Physical demands:

  • Regularly lift and or move up to 20 pounds
  • Exposure to variable temperatures (indoor, outdoor, walk-in cooler)
  • Work with cleaning solvents and chemicals
  • Daily exposure to gasoline and oil products
